Coast of Sinai Peninsula from the Strait of Tiran to Sharm El Maya Bay consists of numerous bays and protruding headlands. This type of coastline is very good for diving.  Lots of nice hotels are situated along the 30 km of Sharm el Sheikh Coastline

Dive sites along Sharm El Sheikh City coastline are known under the common name "Local Sites".

Local sites are often treated as a secondary diving destination after Ras Mohamed and Tiran. This is wrong. Here you will find vast bays with coral gardens, well-protected bays with anchorages and vertical walls descending into the blue abyss.

In summer, manta rays, giant stingrays and sharks can often be found here.

In winter, local sites provide shelter from the waves and wind. Diving here is more relaxed  than at the remote sites of Tiran and Ras Mohamed.
