Ras Mohamed National Park

Ras Muhamed

Ras Mohamed is a vast peninsula in the southernmost part of the Sinai Peninsula. Flat areas with salt lakes are replaced here by steep mountain ranges. Salt streams with mangrove vegetation flow in the valleys. The terrestrial part of the peninsula is deserted, but full of life hidden from an inattentive observer.

Underwater, you'll find an explosion of colors and a riot of coral reef life.

The geographical location of the peninsula at the junction of the Gulf of Aqaba and the Gulf of Suez causes year-round strong currents.

During the summer months (especially in July and August), huge schools of pelagic fish congregate on the reefs of Shark, Yolanda and Jack Fish Alley. Tens of thousands of snappers, barracudas, and jackfish circle in the blue water near the reefs. Sharks follow them in search of prey, complementing the enchanting spectacle. In summer, the water warms up to +30 degrees. July and August are undoubtedly the best months for diving in Sharm El Sheikh.
