MARSA BAREIKA

Back to the general description of Ras Muhamed Park

Vast Marsa Bareika Bay cuts deep into the land on the eastern shore of the Ras Mohamed Peninsula. At the far end of the bay the National Park ranger base is situated along with several dive boat parking buoys.

The sandy beach and dunes stretch for several kilometers along the shore of the bay. Wind, sand and light waves will enchant you. Here you can wander along the sand dunes, sorting out the tracks left by crabs, birds and desert foxes - fennecs. About 30 years ago, before the start of the tourist boom, this is what our beach in Naama Bay looked like.

Enter the water from the beach and at a depth of 1.5-2 meters there will be a wonderful coral garden stretching along the entire coastline. It is an ideal place for snorkeling and diving with children and beginner divers.

The bottom sinks to a considerable depth in ledges. Sand terraces attract stingrays, lionfish, boxfish and other sand lovers.

Marsa Bareika is a favorite habitat for whale sharks. Here they can be found more often than on other sites. Sometimes the team spots a whale shark just below the surface. Be prepared to jump boat and to swim with this grandiose Gods creature.
