Emergency First Response PADI

The Emergency First Response medical care program is developed on the basis of ILCOR committee standards and in accordance with modern requirements for medical first aid provision.

What is EFR Course so important?

Most importantly, you will gain skills that can save lives of people in distress.

The PADI EFR certification will allow you to enroll in the Rescue Diver course, and subsequently in the first PADI Divemaster professional course.

Who can enroll in the course?

EFR Course is useful by anyone, regardless of whether you are a diver or not. The advantages of the course flexibility have already been appreciated by employees of firms and companies where first aid skills are mandatory: teachers, instructors in various sports, parents, and, of course, divers.

Course structure

The Emergency First Response program provides two courses - EFR Primary Care - CPR (Primary Emergency Care - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and EFR Secondary Care - First Aid.

As part of the EFR Primary Care - CPR course, you will learn how to provide emergency care in situations that pose a threat to the life of the victim. You will learn eight skills that will allow you to act correctly in cases of cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, severe bleeding, shock and spinal cord injury. You will learn how to monitor the functions that ensure the life of the victim and get acquainted with the main stages of primary care.

As part of the EFR Secondary Care - First Aid course, you will learn how to provide assistance in situations without immediate threat to victim’s life. You will also learn which actions to be taken in case ambulance service arrival is impossible or delayed.

The program includes a number of optional skills (such as using an automated external defibrillator and using oxygen to provide care) that you will learn only if you need to.

Course materials

The Emergency First Response tutorial will normally be given to you in advance. This will allow you to start mastering the theory on your own before the start of practical classes. A CPR dummy, various masks and devices will be used during instructor-led training.

Course Duration

The course can be completed in one day, provided that you start studying the theoretical material presented in the Emergency First Response student textbook in advance. Together with the instructor, you will create a convenient schedule of classes.

Emergency First Response Refresher Training Course

After completing the Emergency First Response course, try to practice your skills from time to time. If a skill is not used and practiced regularly, it is lost over time. As experience shows, the skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid are significantly lost in six months after the last training.

A great way to practice and improve the acquired skills is to take the Emergency First Response Refresher training course. As part of the refresher training, you will retake the practical part of the Emergency First Response course and once again practice your skills under the guidance of an instructor. After completing the refresher course, you will receive a new certificate.

It is recommended to take a refresher course every two years in order not to forget the skills, as well as to ensure that your certificate is always valid.

To enroll in the Rescue Diver courses and the first PADI Divemaster professional course, an EFR certificate not older than 24 months is required.

The cost of the PADI Emergency First Response course includes:

  • Transfer from the hotel to Dolphin and back
  • Instructor's work
  • Use of all necessary training materials and devices.
  • PADI Certification
