What you need to know about Open Water Diver Course at Dolphin
The diving course takes consecutive 4 days and consists of the following elements:
- Theory in the form of presentations, electronic or paper textbooks and educational videos.
- Skills in handling scuba gear and other underwater equipment.
- Exercises to ensure your safety underwater in normal and emergency situations (5 training dives).
- Practical scuba diving, the ability to navigate in the underwater world, understand and love it (4 training dives)
During the first three days of shore-based training, sessions usually start at 09:30 and finish between 16:00 and 17:00, with a lunch break agreed with your instructor. On day four, if the yacht heads to a suitable site, we depart at about 08:30 and return around 16:00.
Day 1
Meet your instructor, complete the paperwork and receive the training materials. Select your equipment and watch the instructional video in the air-conditioned classroom. After a short theory test, you will proceed to the water. Practical training dives are conducted from well‑equipped beaches with easy access to the sea
|
Why a 4-day diving course is better than a 3-day one 4 days of personal communication with the instructor give you lot more knowledge about the theory of diving You'll have much more time to practice and master your underwater safety skills. SAFETY FIRST! The last day of the course on the boat will give you invaluable experience in real diving. Not to mention the possibility to dive on some beautiful Red Sea reefs already within your training program. The advantage of starting your training from the beach is that you immediately find yourself in the sea. On the first dive, you will see marine life and begin to adapt to the real marine environment. |
After the dives, you will discuss your progress with the instructor and receive recommendations for fixing problems if they arise.
Day 2
Educational video and a short theory test. Training dives from the beach. Final exam on the theory of diving.
Day 3
Now you are ready for more challenging "open water" dives and exercises with depths of up to 18 m.
Day 4
The course concludes with two dives from our diving yacht, provided the vessel heads to sites suitable for you. The yacht crew will offer a selection of drinks and lunch. Upon completion, your instructor will issue an international PADI Open Water Diver certificate, permitting you to dive with an experienced buddy to a depth of 18 metres.
